Leslie D. Weinberg is a renowned photographer, writer, documentary filmmaker, and founder of Aker Press, a boutique publishing company specializing in visually captivating and informative books. Based in Florida, Leslie’s career spans decades of documenting life’s moments through her lens and words, weaving together narratives that both entertain and enlighten.

With roots in writing and photojournalism, Leslie began her journey at The Palm Beach Post and The Palm Beach Daily News, where she honed her craft as both a writer and photographer. Her passion for storytelling led her to Paris, where she worked with prestigious publications such as Elle Paris, Art News, and the Paris Free Voice. This period of her career deepened her expertise, allowing her to collaborate with leading fashion photographers and broaden her artistic vision.

In the mid-1980s, Leslie published A Palm Beach Picture Book, the first of its kind—a black-and-white photographic tribute to her adopted hometown. In 2011, she founded Aker Press to reissue the book in color, followed by a third edition in 2019. Leslie later pursued her passion for film, earning an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University, and has since balanced both mediums to tell compelling stories.

Currently, Leslie is working on several new projects, including Travelling Solo, an inspiring photographic exploration, and a visual study on the Spirit Houses of Thailand. Additionally, she is developing a sequel to the beloved children’s book Rainbow Journey and directing a documentary titled Left-Out, which explores the experiences of left-handed individuals.
