Leslie Dee Weinberg has been taking pictures of the island of Palm Beach since 1983, when she first came as a cub reporter and photographer to the Palm Beach Daily News. Since then, based in Palm Beach, she has gone on to photograph with a studio in Miami Beach and working as an intern and freelance at Elle Magazine in Paris. In the early 90s she shifted her focus to fine art photography of landscapes and capturing the spirit of places. In 2002 she pursued a different visual course, getting her MFA in film at Columbia University. The Palm Beach Picture Book emerged, in black and white, in 1985. The second edition, in color, came out in 2011, for the 100th anniversary of the island. Currently, in the new Trump era, she brings a slightly different perspective to the island, as it adapts to the new president. Leslie maintains that the more things change in the world, the more they remain the same in Palm Beach.
